Usually grown in a greenhouse although they will be just as happy in a polytunnel they can also be grown outside for the summer and brought back inside for the winter. If they are kept at 7C they will flower in winter as well as during the summer.
They are generally not winter hardy in the garden as they don't like to be too wet and cold at the same time, so it is advisable to bring them into a greenhouse or conservatory end September / October and keep over winter inside. If in a heated environment many can still produce flowers during the winter months.
For good foliage and flower results don't forget to feed during the growing season and they will require supporting as they come into flower, our tried and tested plant supports are perfect for this and have been used by us since 1910!
